Demographics

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 478 people, 202 households, and 128 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,309.6 people per square mile (512.7/km²). There were 210 housing units at an average density of 575.4 per square mile (225.2/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 96.86% White, 0.42% African American, 1.26% Native American, and 1.46% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.30% of the population.

There were 202 households out of which 30.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.0% were married couples living together, 10.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.6% were non-families. 30.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.96.

In the village the population was spread out with 26.4% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 31.8% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who were 65 years of age or older.
